STAGES of MORNING
These pieces are related to the "Basin and Range" in subject. They are landscapes
viewed over time. Sleeping outside in the high deserts of the west, I awaken,
repeatedly noting the gradual transition of light as night turns to day. Falling
asleep I again wake and the light has changes, stars dim, colors change,
horizens
brighten. The "stages" are both the increments of change in the dawning light
as well as the physical stage of the vast western landscape where this drama unfolds.
